Amaryllis or Hippeastrum are a beautiful and exotic antidote to the dark days of winter. These magnificent Dutch bulbs usually produce two successive stems with each producing four large, trumpet-like flowers. Although there are no guarantees from Mother Nature, these amaryllis usually flower in eight to twelve weeks after potting.
All varieties of Potted Amaryllis will begin in a pre-bloom stage--most likely with a flower bud starting to sprout--potted in a 5" aged zinc pot with a bit of decorative moss to cover the soil and tied with a seasonal ribbon.
With proper care, amaryllis will provide weeks of blooms as well as long lasting cut flowers. Amaryllis bulbs can also be cultivated to bloom year after year for several years.
Dancing Queen is a double petaled amaryllis with many layers of flamboyant tomato red and white striped petals.
Hercules is a soft fuchsia with an ivory-white star, a merlot burgundy base and a cream eye.
Luna is a creamy ivory to pale yellow with a bright green eye.
Nymph, a double petaled amaryllis, is a diaphanous white with pale to deep coral red veins and striations.
Terra Cotta Star is an unusual blend of orange, brick, salmon, peach and pink etched with brick red veins and a hazy chartreuse green star.
